Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden Gameplay Trailer

In a world where wandering souls seem to be legion, players will embody a couple of Banishers, Antea Duarte and Red mac Raith. As they are given the daunting task of lifting a curse, things go awry and Antea ends up being killed. Since then, she has haunted her wandering companion in the wilds of North America.

A complementary duo

In the heart of a forest visibly under a curse, Antea and Red will have to track down a beast that no one still alive has seen with their own eyes. Several small fights ensue to face what seem to be minor spirits. The title then allows you to quickly alternate between the two lovers to fight your enemies. If Red fights with a sword or a gun, Antea, as a spirit, will use spiritual powers. However, she seems to consume her energy quite quickly during the fight, forcing her to let Red back into the fight. Antea’s energy can thus be regenerated when her companion heals herself or inflicts damage on enemy spirits.

Due to her condition, Antea also has a strong connection to the spirit world. A gift that allows him in particular to see the memories left by certain souls. Thus our couple of Banishers, despite their differences in point of view, manage to unravel the mysteries surrounding the curses to be lifted.

As for the smaller fights, the boss represented by the Beast is to be defeated by judiciously alternating between the brutal blows of Red and the magic of Antea. But once the Beast is defeated, the choices made with Red to fully lift the curse will be critically important. Indeed, on each decision depends the future of the soul of his companion. Whether you will honor your Banisher oath or choose to sacrifice the living remains to be seen.
