The Obamas are planning a new Netflix project with their production company: “Blackout” is to be a film and TV event over 6 love stories.

Higher Ground, the production company run by Barack (59) and Michelle Obama (57), and the “Fatherhood” producers at Temple Hill have a new project in the pipeline for Netflix: “Blackout”. This is supposed to be nothing less than a film and television event consisting of six love stories, each conceived by different authors. This is what “The Hollywood Reporter” reports.

The concept therefore provides that some of the six black love stories end in the film, while others continue in the TV show. The authors involved are Dhonielle Clayton, Tiffany D. Jackson, Nic Stone, Angie Thomas, Ashley Woodfolk, and Nicola Yoon.

Power outage in New York

“Blackout” is set during a blackout on a hot New York summer night. Netflix describes: “When the lights go out and people reveal hidden truths, love blossoms, friendships transform and opportunities run their course.” Among other things, the stories should be about an ex-couple who have to bury their rivalry, about two boys who have to face their feelings trapped in the subway or about a trio of children on a senior citizen’s trip who unravel their relationships on a double-decker tour bus.
