Barbara Salesch and Ulrich Wetzel will be back soon – with two court shows on RTL. The judges are looking forward to the TV comeback.

Barbara Salesch (72) and Ulrich Wetzel (65) will soon be celebrating the return of the court shows on RTL. The broadcaster announced this on August 10th. It’s supposed to start in a few weeks. “Barbara Salesch – The Criminal Court” will run on weekdays from September 5 at 11:00 a.m. (also on RTL+). “Ulrich Wetzel – The Criminal Court” will follow at a later date.

Salesch and Wetzel will deal “with new, highly explosive and exciting cases of criminal law,” according to the statement. These are therefore based on true events. The fact that some smartphone videos, chat histories and voice messages will also be part of the show suggests that the two formats are apparently implemented in a very modern way.

“The court always interests the audience”

“I’m very happy that it’s starting again. The court always interests the viewers,” explains Salesch in a statement. Now there is “a court show on German television that combines old professionalism with the latest developments”. For Wetzel, too, it was “nice to be back. We live in a time of change, people are looking for support and centering – that’s what our court program offers.” You want to convey “a feeling of justice and equal treatment”.

Wetzel was already seen between 2002 and 2008 on RTL in “The Criminal Court”. The show by his colleague, “Richter Barbara Salesch”, ran on Sat.1 between 1999 and 2012.
