TO REMEMBER

Game over for barbie ! After a month and a half of seeing life in pink, Margot Robbie must give up her crown of Number 1 at the French box office to Denzel Washington and the film Equalizer 3.

More unexpectedly, although the film is a success, Anatomy of a fall also manages to beat the Mattel doll! The gap is tight, but it’s a nice shot from the French Palme d’Or. The film directed by Justine Triet has totaled 608,805 admissions to date, an excellent score, now very close to the filmmaker’s greatest success, Victoria, with Virginie Efira, and its more than 650,000 admissions.

Barbie stays just behind, firmly clinging to the podium, but this time on the 3rd step. Barbie now has more than 5.5 million admissions, the second highest score of the year in France, behind Mario and its 7.2 million tickets sold since the start of the year.

Note that with 1.38 billion dollars, Barbie becomes the biggest cinema success of 2023 in the world!

At the foot of the podium, we find one of the other locomotives of this summer, Oppenheimer by Christopher Nolan. The 3-hour film has just crossed 4 million.

In the rest of this ranking, with no other new features than Equalizer 3, let’s point out Gran Turismo (6th) which is now very close to one million. Elementary, 10th, is also very close to a million, after holding out all summer since its release on June 21. A great longevity for the Pixar film.
