A candy pink universe and a lot of humour, to a Beach Boys tune! The new Barbie Movie trailer is here, and it promises fun, fun, fun!
After the character posters unveiled this afternoon, here is a new trailer for this 100% fun film which is coming to our air-conditioned theaters this summer: Barbie the film!
The feature film, adapted from the famous toys, seems to play derision to the maximum and emphasizes candy pink humor and fantasy. To accompany these new images, we can hear the hit of the Beach Boys, Fun, fun, fun.
Besides Ryan Gosling as Ken and Margot Robbie as the lead role, the other versions of Barbie will be played by Issa Rae (Barbie President), Kate McKinnon (Barbie Gymnast), Dua Lipa (Barbie Mermaid), Alexandra Shipp (Barbie Writer), Ritu Arya (Barbie journalist), Hari Nef (Barbie doctor), Emma Mackey (Barbie physicist), Ana Cruz Kayne (Barbie judge), Sharon Rooney (Barbie lawyer) and Nicola Coughlan (Barbie diplomat). The latter, who plays Penelope in the hit series The Bridgerton Chronicle, had not yet been announced to the casting.
Directed by Greta Gerwig, Oscar nominee for The Daughters of Dr. March in 2020 and Lady Bird in 2018, from a script she wrote with Noah Baumbach, the film follows a Barbie doll deemed not “perfect” enough, who go on an adventure in the real world. Co-produced by Mattel Films, Barbie will hit theaters on July 19, 2023.
