Barbra Streisand took her time to form her opinion on the “A Star Is Born” remake. Their conclusion is all the more devastating.

For a full three years, Barbra Streisand (79), the star from the 1976 film adaptation of “A Star Is Born”, took her time to rate the remake starring Bradley Cooper (46) and Lady Gaga (35). Your opinion on the 2018 film is all the more devastating. In an edition of the Australian talk series “The Sunday Project”, the 79-year-old said according to “Entertainment Weekly” Hardly left a good hair on the film that brought Lady Gaga her first Oscar.

In their opinion, it was “the wrong idea” to cast Cooper and Gaga in the new edition, as the couple looked too similar to her and Kris Kristofferson (85) from the 1976 film. The success of the remake is true, but: “I don’t care so much about success, more about originality”, so Streisand’s harsh criticism.

This couple would have celebrated her

At first, Streisand is said to have been on fire when it was told that the musical drama was being remade for the fourth time. At that time, however, a couple of actors had been planned that would have given the story of a worn-out ex-star and a promising newcomer a different direction.

“At the beginning, when I heard that it was going to be made again, Will Smith and Beyoncé should do it. ‘That’s interesting,’ I thought to myself. It would do everything completely different, contain a different kind of music. (.. .) I thought that was a great idea. ” There is nothing left of this initial euphoria: “So I was very surprised when I saw how similar it is to the version I made in 1976.”
