Having generative artificial intelligence is good. But having a quick response is better. Google has also just upgraded Bard by allowing it to respond in real time instead of displaying the response once the generation is complete.

Bard: generative AI now responds to your requests in real time

Instant answers for Google Bard

Google continues to catch up with Bard AI. A recent report from 9to5Google has just revealed that generative artificial intelligence can now respond in real time. It is thus possible to have an overview of the response as it is generated, as ChatGPT and Bing Chat already do.

As a reminder, the Bard chatbot was previously limited to responding once the generation had been completed. At the moment, instant generation is enabled by default in the English version of the AI.

An option still allows you to switch back to the previous generation option. After tapping the cog-shaped adjustment button, simply switch from “Reply in real time” to “Reply when completed” mode in the settings.

But this is not the only evolution brought to Bard. Real-time generation provides a “Skip answer” button to cut the AI off in the middle of its sentence. This is very useful in case the answer does not suit us. It is thus possible to quickly readjust your question or propose a new one.

Bard’s latest developments

Google is working hard to improve its Bard generative artificial intelligence. However, the delay is significant compared to the democratizer of technology, OpenAI with ChatGPT, and the opportunist, Microsoft with Bing Chat.

The latest news is that AI has been refined for the start of the 2023 school year with the possibility of accessing information from Google services and applications, sharing a conversation with a colleague or loved one so that they continue it or even giving the sources used to generate its responses.

During the Pixel 8 announcement, we learned that Bard would soon integrate Assistant, offering greatly improved capabilities for Google’s voice assistant. To note, 9to5Google discovered in the application source code that tests on the generations of Pixel with Tensor chip (Pixel 6, 7 and 8) and the Galaxy S23 were in progress.

At the end of October, other improvements arrived, notably allowing Bard to summarize several emails at once or to display images sent to the chatbot in shared conversations.
