Bardot on France 2: have you spotted this little nod to Jean-Paul Belmondo?

In episode 4 of “Bardot”, broadcast last Monday on France 2, the writers hid a little nod to Jean-Paul Belmondo. The legendary actor, however, has never given the reply to Brigitte Bardot.

This Monday evening, France 2 broadcasts the last two episodes of Bardot, a biopic mini-series returning to the life and loves of the iconic Brigitte Bardot. For the occasion, BB is played by Julia de Nunez, a young actress who gets her first role here.

In the cast of this series written by Danièle Thompson and her son Christopher Thompson, we can also find Victor Belmondo, the grandson of actor Jean-Paul Belmondo, who plays Roger Vadim, Brigitte Bardot’s first lover and first husband. , which had a major impact on her career since it was he who directed and wrote And God… Created Woman, a film that will make her the myth she is today.

And if Jean-Paul Belmondo and Brigitte Bardot have never given the reply on the big screen, their paths had crossed, in particular when the actor had passed unsuccessful tests for the film The Truth.

If “Bébel” is not officially present in Bardot, the writers still had fun slipping a little nod against him in the series. In episode 4, titled “La Papillon”, which was broadcast on Monday May 15 at 10:05 p.m. on France 2, Brigitte reviews the CVs of potential actors who could star in her next film Babette goes away -t-at war.

It was then that his agent Olga Horstig (played by Anne Le Ny) showed him the photo of a promising young actor, without giving his name. Looking at the portrait, Brigitte says: “A face, beautiful mouth… Must see”, before moving on to other candidates.

A photo which is none other than that of a certain Jean-Paul Belmondo who was at that time filming Breathless by Jean-Luc Godard. A nice nod to two mythical actors of French cinema.
