Barely announced, the new MediaTek chip would power the next Realme smartphone


MediaTek has just launched its new processor, the Dimensity 6300, which is in line with chipsets mid-range of the Dimensity 6000 series. This chip promises improved performance and advanced 5G connectivity, all at an affordable price, and features several improvements over the Dimensity 6100+ released in 2023.

The Dimensity 6300 is an octa-core processor engraved in 6nm, with two large Arm Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.4 GHz, and six Arm Cortex-A55 efficiency cores clocked at 2 GHz. The Taiwanese founder promises a 50% faster GPU for an optimal gaming experience, an improved 5G modem and technology aimed at extending battery life.

In terms of specifications, the Dimensity 6300 supports LPDDR4x RAM, as well as UFS 2.2 storage. It should also allow devices equipped with WiFi 5, Bluetooth 5.2 compatibility, photos up to 108 megapixels and Full HD+ display up to 120 Hz.

One of the first smartphones to benefit from this would be the Realme C65 5G, which is expected to hit the Indian market later this month at less than €120. According to GSMArena, this new terminal from the BBK Electronics group brand would be equipped with a 6.67-inch LCD screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, a camera with a 50 Mpx main sensor and ‘a 5000 mAh battery. It would have up to 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage.
