Dealer Ludwig “Lucki” Hofmaier got out of the junk show “Bares für Rares”. Will a replacement come? That’s what ZDF says.

Audience favorite Ludwig “Lucki” Hofmaier (79) left the popular junk show “Bares für Rares” (ZDF) a year ago, earlier than expected. “After he had already reduced his working hours in recent years, he is now in the well-deserved ‘Bares für Rares’ retirement,” confirms the ZDF spokesman when asked by spot on news. Hofmaier’s exit was agreed by mutual agreement, he explains.

Apparently his plan didn’t work out

Ludwig Hofmaier was seen as a dealer in the junk show since 2013. At the end of 2019 he said in an interview with “Oberpfalz-Medien”: “It will be over in five years. Then it will be enough,” because the contract with ZDF expires. But it was so far earlier. His last appearance on the show was “recorded in March 2020 and broadcast on June 26, 2020”. “An official farewell broadcast is not planned,” says the broadcaster. On the broadcast page Hofmaier is still listed among the “experts and dealers”.

Has his dealer seat been replaced in the shipment?

The spokesman said: “There is no direct replacement – since Ludwig Hofmaier’s departure, various dealers have been on duty in the daily show.” In general, with “Bares für Rares” “new dealers and experts are constantly being used and tested”.
