Singer Barry Ryan is dead. He died a few weeks before his 73rd birthday, as his good friend Yusuf aka Cat Stevens announced.

The British musician Barry Ryan (1948-2021) is dead. This was announced by his good friend Yusuf alias Cat Stevens (73, “Peace Train”). Ryan was 72 years old.

Like Yusuf on Instagram explained that his music colleague died on Tuesday, September 28th. Just a few weeks later, on October 24th, Ryan would have celebrated his 73rd birthday.

In addition to a photo of himself and his deceased friend, the 73-year-old “Father and Son” interpreter recalled old times in his social media entry: “Our time together began in the 60s when he and his twin brother Paul were a trendy teen -Stars in tuxedos. ” Back then he wrote a song for the sibling duo and started spending time with them. “When I spoke to him recently, he told me that he had made his peace with knowing that he had little time left on earth,” Yusuf continued.

“Eloise” made it to the top of the chart in Germany

Barry and Paul Ryan (1948-1992) first became known as a duo in the 1960s – mainly through the 1968 hit “Eloise”. In Germany, the title even landed at the top of the chart, as well as in Australia and Switzerland. Barry Ryan later celebrated another great success. With the German hit “Time only stops at the devil” he won the “ZDF hit parade” in 1972. However, there were no further successes and from the end of the 70s the Briton devoted himself to another passion – photography.
