Bas-Rhin: call for witnesses to find an 11-month-old girl

L’kidnapping alert has not yet been triggered. According to information from colleagues from France 3, the police of Sélestat, in the Bas-Rhin, are calling for witnesses this Sunday to try to find the trace of an 11-month-old girl. The child was to be separated from her mother following a court decision and she would have fled with her.

“We have contacted the entourage, but, for the moment, we cannot locate the mother”, explains to France 3 the commander Raphaël Briand, head of the police station of Sélestat. The little girl has dark skin and dark hair, she wore a tank top dress, a cardigan and light sandals.

No kidnapping alert

As for the mother, she is described as a woman with shoulder-length red hair, of fairly strong build and who is 1.69 m tall. Authorities said she was wearing a light jacket, black pants and black flip-flops as she fled.

The child is not “in mortal danger”, according to the police, which explains why the kidnapping alert plan was not triggered. “Anyone with information to locate the mother or her daughter is asked to contact the Sélestat police station on 03 90 57 77 20”, it is specified.
