Based in Paris, New Tales is the latest studio founded by Blizzard alumni

More than just an independent studio, New Tales also announces itself with the dual role of publisher and developer. A fantasy that he can afford thanks to his team of veterans with an average of 22 years of experience in the video game industry. CVs featuring companies such as Blizzard, Ubisoft, Sega, LucasArts, Activision and Sierra, as well as licenses such as World of Warcraft, Half-Life, Hearthstone, EverQuest, Call of Duty, Sonic, Diablo, Crash Bandicoot and Overwatch .

New Tales aims to develop its own licenses internally but also to share its services as a publisher with other studios looking for a partner. At the head of the company, Cédric Maréchal and his almost 30 years of experience, notably as former general manager of Blizzard Entertainment in Versailles. And if it’s Activision Blizzard alumni you want, co-founders Benoît Dufour, Delphine Le Corre, Emmanuel Obert, Ray Gresko and Julia Humphreys have all been there.

We’ve built a team of passionate gamers with an unrivaled degree of experience, having developed some of the largest gaming licenses and communities. Gaming has rarely seen such an exciting time, fueled by tons of innovation and creativity. However, the frequency of new releases continues to increase rapidly, which reinforces the need for a large international edition.“, comments CEO Cédric Maréchal. New Tales is already at work with partners who share its ambitions while building an internal workforce in order to produce its first franchise, even if no developer position is yet to be filled on the official studio website.

As a reminder, there are at least five other studios founded by Blizzard alumni in recent years: Dreamhaven, Second Dinner, Frost Giant Studios, Uncapped Games and Notorious Games. If these studios were created with very specific specialties in mind, in particular the RTS and the MMORPG, we do not yet know which genre New Tales is heading towards.
