(CercleFinance.com) – BASF announces the signing of a framework agreement with CSSC Power Group Corporation Limited (CPGC) around the installation of the advanced onboard carbon capture system (OCCS) on natural gas (LNG) carriers ) using BASF’s OASE blue technology.
The idea is to promote low-carbon transformation and sustainable development of the maritime industry.
The partnership marks an important milestone following a memorandum of understanding signed in 2023 and the successful testing of the system prototype.
CPGC and BASF are working to optimize the design of the OCCS unit for commercial application on different types of navigation. The performance of the prototype has been validated by maritime classification societies.
