(CercleFinance.com) – BASF obtains ISCC+ certification at all its main production sites for acrylics, alcohols, glycol ethers and acetates.
With this step, BASF is now able to produce more than 60 products related to this portfolio with one or more sustainability attributes.
The majority of the portfolio can also be offered with one or more of the following sustainability attributes: ‘Low-PCF’ and ‘Zero-PCF’ products help reduce the carbon footprint of products, contributing to customers’ greenhouse gas reduction targets.
‘Bio-sourced’ products are partially made from biomass, the traceability of which is ensured by the 14C method. Ccycled R products are made from raw materials chemically recycled from plastic waste or end-of-life tires, which helps promote a circular economy.
The ‘Made using Green Power’ products underline BASF’s commitment to renewable energy, which helps to further mitigate the environmental impact of the production process.
Martin Liedemit, Senior Vice President Global Strategic Business Development Petrochemicals at BASF, emphasizes: ‘Thanks to BASF’s global and versatile asset footprint, we are able to offer products with different sustainability attributes. In recent years, we have implemented measures that enable us to provide solutions that help our customers around the world achieve their sustainability goals and ambitions.’
