(CercleFinance.com) – The group achieved a turnover of 68.9 billion euros during the 2023 financial year, compared to 87.3 billion euros the previous year. ‘This change in turnover is mainly explained by significantly lower prices and volumes’ indicates management.
Operating profit (EBIT) before exceptional items for the 2023 financial year amounts to 3.8 billion euros. ‘The decrease of 3.1 billion euros compared to the previous financial year is mainly explained by a significantly lower contribution to the result of the Chemicals and Materials segments’.
EBITDA before exceptional items in 2023 stood at 7.7 billion euros, or 3.1 billion euros less than in 2022. EBITDA decreased by 3.6 billion euros for stand at 7.2 billion euros. Net profit increased by 852 million euros to reach 225 million euros, compared to minus 627 million euros in 2022.
‘ The BASF Group’s EBITDA before exceptional items is expected to reach between 8.0 and 8.6 billion euros in 2024 (2023: 7.7 billion euros). BASF expects the BASF Group’s free cash flow to be between 0.1 billion euros and 0.6 billion euros (2023: 2.7 billion euros)’ the group says.
