BASF: offers the carbon footprint of its products

(CercleFinance.com) – BASF now offers customers in the plastics additives industry the Product Carbon Footprints (PCFs) of several antioxidants and light stabilizers as a premium service within the VALERAS portfolio.

By improving CO2 transparency in the value chain, BASF will help its customers achieve their greenhouse gas emission reduction goals. Thanks to its digital solution, BASF can now provide the total greenhouse gas emissions that occur from the extraction of resources to the manufacture of the final chemical product itself, including the manufacture of precursors.

‘With this digital solution, we are creating greater transparency with high-quality PCFs to enable them to meet customer demands and validate sustainability claims to create low-carbon plastics,’ says Dr Achim Sties, Senior Vice President, Performance Chemicals Europe, BASF.

PCFs will be available as a premium service through a new online customer portal called myPlasticAdditives. It is a convenient and easy-to-use digital solution for on-demand access to an extensive library of regulatory, technical and sustainability information.
