BASF: offshore wind joint venture with Mingyang


(CercleFinance.com) – BASF announces that it has agreed with Mingyang to jointly build and operate an offshore wind farm in southern China. The two companies thus formed a joint venture named Mingyang BASF New Energy (Zhanjiang), with 90% for Mingyang and 10% for BASF.

The wind farm in Zhanjiang Municipality, Guangdong Province will have a total installed capacity of 500 MW.

Subject to construction approval by the relevant authorities, the wind farm is expected to be fully operational in 2025 and the majority of the electricity produced will be used to supply renewable electricity to the BASF Zhanjiang Verbund site.
