BASF: presents new technology for catalysts

(CercleFinance.com) – BASF presents X3DTM technology, a new catalyst additive manufacturing technology based on 3D printing.

Catalysts produced using this technology have an open structure, resulting in reduced pressure drop across the reactor and high surface area, which significantly improves catalyst performance.

BASF has the ability to supply commercial quantities.

This technology takes catalyst performance to the next level and allows catalysts to be tailored to specific customer conditions and needs by designing the fill pattern, diameter and fiber orientation.

‘Thanks to this technology, we are able to provide catalysts tailored to the needs of customers in order to help them increase the performance of their installations while reducing energy consumption and increasing sustainability at the customer level’, details Detlef Ruff, Senior Vice President, Process Catalysts at BASF.
