BASF: with RiKarbon to recycle bio-waste

(CercleFinance.com) – BASF and RiKarbon announce the signing of a partnership agreement for the exclusive license and marketing of RiKarbon’s proprietary technology.

RiKarbon’s patented technology enables the recycling of bio-waste into biodegradable, bio-based emollients for the global personal care market.

This technology makes it possible to manufacture a clear and odorless emollient which imparts excellent sensory soft and silky properties to personal care formulations.

BASF intends to bring the RiKarbon technology in-house and plans a market launch of the first solutions in 2024.

“It has been an exciting journey to bring our technology to this point where we can partner with BASF,” said Professor Basudeb Saha, President and Director of RiKarbon.

“The results of RiKarbon’s lab trials are very encouraging and show the potential of the innovation for the personal care market,” continues Dr. Robert Parker, Director of New Business Development and Head of Digital, Care Chemicals at BASF .
