Germany is in the semifinals. The national basketball team’s next game is today, Friday, September 16 at 8:30 p.m. Opponent is the team from Spain. Should Germany qualify for the final, next Sunday it will be up against the winner of the match France against Poland for the European Championship title.

Germany unexpectedly made it into the semi-finals. A win today would have already secured a European Championship medal. The last time there was silver was in 2005. The only gold medal was secured at a European Championship in 1993. There were always exciting duels against Spain. In 2001 Germany lost the match for the bronze medal, in 2005 they were able to prevail in the semi-finals.

The European Basketball Championship will be held for the 41st time in 2022. It will be played in different cities across the continent:

  • From the knockout round, the game continues in Berlin.
