Basketball: France lose to Spain in the final

by Matthieu Cointe (iDalgo)

New disappointment for the French basketball team under 19. Sunday evening, the Bleuets lost the final of the world championship against Spain after a breathless scenario (73-69). While leading by seven points in the last quarter, the French were pushed into extra time and collapsed in the final minutes of the game. Sparkling throughout the tournament, Melvin Ajinca finished top scorer in the final with 21 points. As in 2021, the French team stalls on the last step and will have to settle for the silver medal. Spain U19 wins the second world title in its history.
