The huge Art Deco style residence faces the ocean, avenue des Dunes, in Anglet. Already on Saturday, much more discreet tags, in black felt, had been made on the gates and surroundings of the property. During the weekend, residents and curious people paraded to take pictures. “Do you know what ‘Fuck’ means?” asks this passer-by, intrigued. We explain to him.

The messages in Russian and Ukrainian – “Putin Suka” (a flowery insult), “Putin’s mafia” (in French in the text) or “Slava Ukraina” for “Glory to Ukraine” – were visible on Saturday on the entrances to this building from the 1930s. In the area, the property bought by Russian businessman Artur Ocheretny, husband of Lyudmila Putina since 2016, is well known.
