Batgirl: a photo of Michael Keaton in the Batman costume revealed after the cancellation of the film

The co-director of the film “Batgirl” Adil El Arbi, whose release has just been canceled by Warner Bros. studios, unveiled on Instagram a preview of the new costume that Batman, played by Michael Keaton, would have worn.

A few days after the decision taken by Warner Bros. to cancel the release of the film Batgirl, the filming of which had nevertheless been completed, this is news that will add regret to fans of the DC Comics universe.

On his Instagram account, the film’s co-director Adil El Arbi (in tandem with his Belgian compatriot Bilall Fallah) unveiled a behind-the-scenes photo of the filming, revealing a glimpse of the new costume that Batman, played by Michael Keaton, would have worn in the superhero feature film.

Fans are left with the slim hope that this costume will also be sported by the vigilante in the film The Flash (but whose release could also be jeopardized due to the legal problems encountered by its main actor, Ezra Miller).

Since the announcement of this cancellation, the two filmmakers have been able to count on the support of many colleagues and personalities from the world of cinema, including the boss of Marvel studios Kevin Feige, with whom Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah have collaborated via the series Miss Marvel (of which they directed a few episodes).

“My friends, I wanted to write to you with my best wishes to you both. About the wonderful news (Bilall’s wedding!) and the not so good news about Batgirl. I am very proud of the wonderful work done by both of you, especially on the Miss Marvel series. I look forward to hearing about your next project. Hope to see you soon.”

The Miss Marvel series (six episodes) can now be discovered in full and exclusively on the Disney+ platform!
