Since 2009 and Batman: Arkham Asylum of RocksteadyL’Arkhamverse has expanded through many games, the last being the forgettable Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, far from the atmosphere of previous productions. The British studio does not, however, have a monopoly on this video game universe, Arkham Origins having for example been developed by Warner Bros. Games Montreal. A soberly named virtual reality game Batman: Arkham VR was created in 2016 on PlayStation VR. The idea of putting oneself in the shoes of the vigilante via this technology was already attractive at the time and with the evolution of the market and devices, the publisher and rights holder must have seen it as an opportunity to be seized sincea second project in VR will indeed see the light of day, called Batman: Arkham Shadow.
This surprise announcement is, however, not so surprising since there FTC had spilled the beans in 2022. Indeed, it is indeed Camouflaj who is behind this new Batman adventurestudio to whom we owe Marvel’s Iron Man VR and which had been bought by Meta that same year, hence the fact thatOculus Studios be the publisher.
This Batman: Arkham Shadow is therefore intended exclusively for Meta Quest 3 from Mark Zuckerberg’s firm and will be released at the end of the year. For the moment, no gameplaythe announcement teaser simply showing Batou in an alley, with rats lunging at him, worthy of a A Plague Tale. There World Premiere of the game will take place on the occasion of Summer Game Fest Live on June 7, the wait will therefore be short.
