Batman: Keanu Reeves has a crazy dream for this DC superhero

While promoting ‘Krypto and the Super-Animals’, Keanu Reeves – who voices Batman in the US version – said it would be a dream to portray the Dark Knight in a live-action version.

After playing the chosen one in the Matrix saga and a fearsome hitman in John Wick, Keanu Reeves would see himself wearing a black cape and the Batman mask!

Soon to appear in the DC animated film Krypto and the super-animals, in which he lends his voice to Batman, Keanu Reeves confided to Extra-TV that he would like to play the Dark Knight in a live action film.

Asked by the American media during the preview of the animated film, the 39-year-old actor declared his love for the character. “I love Batman. I love the character, I love comic books, I love movies… So having the opportunity to voice him was awesome.

The reporter bounced back by asking the comedian if he’d like to wear the costume after simply giving it voice. Keanu Reeves then said:

It’s always been a dream, but it’s [Robert] Pattinson who plays Batman currently, and he’s doing very well, so maybe one day. Maybe when they need an older Batman.

The actor is therefore interested in playing an older version of the DC character. A role already held by Christian Bale in the films of Christopher Nolan. It is therefore difficult for Warner to offer the role to Keanu Reeves.

But the latter could nevertheless find a character from the DC universe that he has already interpreted. In 2005, Keanu Reeves played the anti-hero John Constantine in the eponymous film by Francis Lawrence. Last November, the Canadian actor announced that he was ready to resume his role as a demon hunter born under the pen of Alan Moore in 1985.

In an interview with EsquireKeanu Reeves specified “I loved interpreting Constantine. I played a lot of John… I don’t even know how many, but I think it’s about ten. But I would like to have the chance to embody this character again.”

In the meantime, Keanu Reeves is the original voice of Batman in Krypto and the Super-Beasts, in theaters July 27. When Superman and the members of the Justice League are captured by Lex Luthor Krypto the Superdog and his animal friends will go all out to save the superheroes.
