While the actor is expected in “The Flash” as the vigilante of Gotham, he will once again reprise his iconic role for the film centered on “Batgirl”.

The year 2022 will mark the 30th anniversary of Batman, the challenge of Tim Burton. Since this sequel – as appreciated, if not more, than the first opus – Michael Keaton had never reappeared on the screen in the guise of Bruce Wayne. But Andy Muschietti’s film The Flash will rectify the situation. After that, the actor will don the costume for the fourth time for another project, still from DC Comics: Batgirl.

The adaptation, directed by Belgian directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, is not planned for the big screen, but for the American platform HBO Max. Michael Keaton is well and truly confirmed in his role as Batman, but there is no information on whether his character will be of major importance in the plot.

He thus joins Brendan Fraser, who will play the big bad, but also JK Simmons who will resume his role of Commissioner Gordon. The Oscar-winning actor had already played the lawyer a few years earlier in Zack Snyder’s Justice League. A casting that would suppose the presence of another multiverse in the history of the film?

Carried by Leslie Grace, who will slip into the skin of the title role, Batgirl will follow the adventures of Barbara Gordon, daughter of the commissioner, while she will try, in turn, to confront the underworld of Gotham City. Currently in production, the film is already scheduled for 2023.
