Battle of the Reality Stars
The first candidate wins the show

Three completely different stars made it to the final in three different ways. There could only be one logical winner there.
“Welcome to the Reality TV Academy Awards,” says the spokesman for “Kampf der Realitystars” at the beginning of the last episode, as usual smugly and self-deprecatingly from the off. But the analogy to the most important film award in the world is not that presumptuous. In terms of staff and entertainment value, the second season of the trash spectacle actually played in the Champions League of the genre, the A list of B celebrities was at the start.
Rule change in the final
While in other relevant shows the candidates are punished for breaking the rules, the creators of “Kampf der Realitystars” constantly tweaked the mode without prior notice. So, of course, in the tenth and last episode. Unlike in the first season of 2020, in which ex-soccer player Kevin Pannewitz (29) secured victory in an action game, the eliminated candidates can now choose their favorite from the three stars who make it to the finals.
That means: sportiness, cleverness or luck may bring you to the 3-man finals, the crown only ensures your popularity with your colleagues. A good and fair rule of the game for a format in which, unlike live shows such as jungle camp or “Celebrity Big Brother”, no viewers can decide.
There are three ways to get to the final
Claudia Obert (59) was the first participant to make it into the final, already in the penultimate episode. The business woman had submitted a headline within the show that made it into the real tabloids. The shame-free reality lady had “confessed” that she had spent 100,000 euros on a callboy within a year. The reward for being free of pain was a direct ticket to the round of the last three, which was not well received by all fellow candidates.
The stars play the second place in the final in the last episode in a mixture of race and knowledge game. The celebrities have to answer questions about the show (how many steps are there in the stairs to the toilet). While running, have them find a sign with the correct answer and bring them back to their chairs. As with “Travel to Jerusalem”, their number is decreasing. The favorite in this game is of course Andrej Mangold (34) as a very clever competitive athlete. The ex-bachelor and ex-basketball player wins too.
The last ticket to the final goes to the star who hides an envelope so well in the sala that the competitors cannot find it. Loona (46) chooses the best hiding place. This means that there are three candidates in the final who have been there since the first broadcast ten weeks ago.
Triell of reality stars
In relevant reality shows, you usually make it to the endgame in three ways: by winning the qualifying games with sporty commitment, by making yourself popular with fellow candidates, or by being particularly polarized. Athlete Andrej went the first route, Loona as a nice hostel mother the second and riot sister Claudia the third.
But since the colleagues ultimately decide, the victory can only go to one person: Loona. Five of the seven eliminated candidates give their vote to the likeable singer, sometimes with tears. Although the popularity of the Dutch woman crumbled in between – she once wrongly accused Andrej and Jenefer Riili (30) of cheating – and she was seen by some as a slipper, her friendly approach to all candidates pays off.
Andrei got two votes. For the beau, his wish to repair the reputation that had been cracked by “The Stars’ Summer House” has come true. The bully at the time was not put to shame this time.
Claudia comes away empty-handed. Although she was also sympathetic, a win would have a bad taste in the aftertaste for her. After all, her colleagues had already voted her out, the makers brought her back for some inexplicable reason.
The second, very amusing season of “Battle of the Reality Stars” is history. The next one is guaranteed to arrive: In the end, the director, in all seriousness, displayed the email address with which willing celebrities can apply.
