Surprise at the start of the second season of “Battle of Reality Stars”: Instead of young rioters, two older men cause irritation.

The first season of “Kampf der Realitystars” (Battle of Reality Stars) in the summer of 2020 had at least some top-class players in the genre to offer, including Willi Herren (1975-2021) and Georgina Fleur (31). And also in the second season of the games, the list of participants reads, at least in part, like the “Who is (again) who?” of the simple TV.

The first celebrity to arrive in Phuket, Thailand, is a woman who really deserves the title of Reality Star: Claudia Obert (59). The trash queen and entrepreneur, who recently looked for great love in her own show, is quick-witted, self-deprecating and now and then also slightly fancied. The first thing she does is get on with the bubbly. When two younger semesters arrive, she is shocked: Jenefer Riili (30) from “Berlin Tag & Nacht” and “Love Island” winner Tim Kühnel (24) neither drink alcohol.

Walther’s ancient image of women

Then come “Bauer sucht Frau” cult candidate Narumol (55), who, as a native of Thailand, has a home game, even if she is greeted by a fellow candidate in Chinese, and Walther Hoffmann (61). The travel agent once went to “dream woman wanted” to look for a bride in Eastern Europe. The gentleman of the oldest school has gifts with him that he wants to distribute to the ladies of creation who are present – but only if they are good. Apparently they were on the first evening. Since they cooked for the men, the women get jewelry.

Under normal TV circumstances in 2021 Walther would probably have been canceled, here he is admired by the young men and the women are happy about the presents – even Claudia, who initially rolled her eyes at the man with the Hawaiian shirts from the burial table. It was probably a smart move by the makers to dig up Walther. A man with an ancient gender image who just wants to be polite is likely to polarize viewers more than a mob.

The “bad prince” is coming

So that it doesn’t stay that way, RTLzwei draws the first joker. A raven as a dark harbinger announces him: Prince Frédéric von Anhalt (78). The prince, best known as the eighth husband of Hollywood diva Zsa Zsa Gabor (1917-2016), takes on the role of villain with relish. Everything in terms of entertainment, of course, which he understands like no other. At least he thinks so. In a game in which the reality stars, similar to the “family duel”, have to estimate what the majority of the surveyed viewers think of them, it is revealed that the silent majority does not associate the prince with entertainment, but among other things with his deceased wife.

Walther’s self-image also let the audience burst. When asked what he was known for, most of them replied: “I don’t know who he is.” The man, who allegedly can only take to the streets in disguise, because otherwise he is besieged by fans, does not want to admit that. Later, when the stars had to hand over their suitcases because of defeats in the game and violation of the general rules, the angry woman who understood women threatened to move out. He calculates later that it would cost the station an audience rate of 2 percent. Touching.

A celebrity really has to go. The newcomers Gina-Lisa Lohfink (34) and Frédéric can make the choice. The prince, very gentleman, takes the decision from Gina-Lisa. He eliminates Paul Elvers (19), the son of Jenny Elvers (49), who was not entertaining enough for him. Not only because of his red baseball cap, according to Gina-Lisa, the “bad prince” is reminiscent of Donald Trump (75) and his merciless “You’re fired” show on “The Apprentice”. Let’s see how the celebrities can hold their own against Walther and Frédéric in the next episodes.
