To say that the launch of Battlefield 2042 didn’t go as planned would be an understatement. The game ofElectronic Arts was entitled to complicated beginnings, which put DICE in a particularly thorny situation, forcing the studio to push back the release of the game’s season 1 to summer 2022. The last time a launch caused such a stir was for Cyberpunk 2077and some people have taken it into their heads to ask for the same kind of repairs that CD Projekt provided when it launched its RPG.
A petition that has grown a lot in recent hours
We have therefore seen a petition flourish on the Change.org site, which asks that reimbursement measures be put in place to Battlefield 2042, on all platforms. Yesterday, the petition had only a few hundred signatures, but as of this writing, it now has more than 30,000. This petition then states:
” According to numerous consumer reports, Electronic Arts and DICE did not deliver on all of their promises at launch, and Battlefield 2042 launched as unplayable. Even today Battlefield 2042 has bugs that drastically change the in-game experience, so much that it is perceived as unfinished by many community members. »
The author of the petition indicates that if it reaches 50,000 signatures, a law firm would be ready to take an interest in the case. Even though Electronic Arts acknowledged the issues with the game’s launch in its latest financial statement, it seems highly unlikely that this petition will actually lead to the establishment of a reimbursement system.
That being said, it once again shows the discontent of the community and can force EA to speak out on the subject, but it will take a lot more signatories for that.
