Battlefield 2042 has come a long way and has almost been visibly abandoned on several occasions. But yet, a little over two years later, the game is still alive. A resurrection of the extreme after a simply catastrophic launch. This episode fell very low, but the support of DICE and its arrival in PS Plus, among others, made it possible to keep BF 2042 active. Efforts that will continue very soon with new maps, weapons and a new battle pass.
Season 7 of Battlefield 2042 soon available on consoles and PC
If bets had to be made on the survival of Battlefield 2042, DICE’s FPS would not have received much support. Even though it is a cult license which offers an experience incomparable with other multiwar games. But now, the changes made to BF 2042 have demobilized the players. Millions of them quickly turned away, and some preferred to relaunch old titles in the saga to wait until Battlefield 7. For its part, DICE continued to provide follow-up. And soon, the game will be updated as part of Season 7 “Flashing Point”.
What new features can we expect for this season 7 of Battlefield 2042? Two very different cards. Refuge, which is very reminiscent of Strike At Karkand – an inspiration assumed by the studio – will favor infantry combat and should be an ideal playground for snipers. THE Stadium Hourglass will be revisited and, again, it will not really be aimed at vehicles. To eliminate your opponents as quickly as possible, there will also be new weapons. The PM SCZ-3 multipurpose submachine gun, the AK 5C assault rifle and the DFR Strife which will provide the mobility of an assault rifle with a large magazine.
Season 7 Battlefield 2042 Flashpoint will also have additional gadgets, as well as skins for weapons or specialists. And it goes without saying, all the new features will be unlockable via a Battle Pass which contains free… and paid content!
The Battle Pass with free and paid content
Battlefield 2042 Season 7 will be released on March 19, 2024 on all platforms where the game is available. That is to say on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC. And the new tools will be locked behind a new Battle Pass stuffed with content. In total, there will be 100 tiers, 30 free, 70 Premium. But before screaming in front of your screen, know that the weapons will be unlockable without paying.
