Battlefield 2042 is not well received and EA is faced with a lot of negative reviews. According to an industry insider, the company is now considering a free-to-play model.
- EA is facing significant problems with Battlefield 2042 in the form of negative reviews.
- Now an insider suggests that a free-to-play model would be possible.
Battlefield 2042 has been out since late 2021 and doesn’t seem to be doing particularly well judging by Steam reviews. Because the almost 90,000 reviews are mostly negative.
Now, of course, the question arises as to what EA intends to do about it, and industry insider Tom Henderson, who is known, among other things, for his accurate predictions about Battlefield, seems to have an answer to this question.
In a tweet, Henderson explains that EA is currently examining all options to save Battlefield 2042 and this also includes the consideration of offering the shooter for free in some form (“free-to-play”).
Probably still chargeable for the time being
However, such a drastic measure needs to be carefully considered, which is why Henderson also points out that EA will not make such a decision within the next few weeks.
So whether the company will ultimately convert Battlefield 2042 into a free-to-play title is questionable, but not completely impossible. However, you can already play top-class shooters like Halo Infinite and PUBG for free.
