Iris and Uwe got to know and love each other at “Bauer sucht Frau”. They have been married for a few years now. The farmer, in particular, doesn’t look back too fondly on her time on the TV show.

Uwe Abel (54) found the love of his life at “Bauer sucht Frau”. Still, he doesn’t leave the TV format good. In an interview with the “Süddeutsche Zeitung”, the former pig farmer now formulates harsh criticism of “Farmer seeks a wife”.

Uwe Abel did not take part in “Bauer sucht Frau” voluntarily

Uwe and Iris met in 2011, have been a couple since then and are now happily married. The 54-year-old has friends to thank for the fact that it was able to come to this point. Because, as he now reveals, he hadn’t signed up for the show himself, rather his friends took the initiative. “They said they had to do something good for me. The year before, three of my family members died, I was alone on the farm.”

“We were annoyed”

Uwe Abel did not expect that he would actually get to know his dream woman through the TV format. But Iris was able to impress him directly. But getting to know each other turned out to be more difficult than expected, because at least there were cameras around them all the time. Uwe doesn’t like to remember the time: “During the week in the yard, Iris and I were really annoyed by the film crew. We had to repeat everything three times for the camera, until at two o’clock in the morning and right back at seven in the morning. And in between I had to get up the critters watch. “

Nevertheless, he is happy to have participated in “Bauer sucht Frau”. Despite the initial exertion, he and Iris have become a great team – perhaps because of the stressful early days. “That welded us together. We became a team,” says the 54-year-old. His wife adds that she would take part in “Bauer sucht Frau” again and again. “But only if I got Uwe again!”
