Bayer: 4% drop in core EPS in the 1st quarter

(CercleFinance.com) – Bayer publishes core EPS for the first quarter of 2024 down 4.4% to 2.82 euros, as well as EBITDA excluding exceptionals down 1.3% to 4.41 billion euros euros and free cash flow improved to -2.63 billion, compared to -4.1 billion a year earlier.

At nearly 13.8 billion euros, the German group’s turnover fell by 0.6% organically, with decreases of 3% in agrochemicals and 1.8% in consumer health, but an increase of 3.9% in pharmaceuticals.

Bayer confirms its adjusted exchange rate forecasts for the year 2024, a negative impact of anticipated exchange rate effects however leading it to reduce its EBITDA target range excluding exceptionals from 10.4-11 billion euros to 10 .2-10.8 billion.
