TSG make Champions League debut
The footballers of TSG 1899 Hoffenheim start the new season of the Champions League with a huge victory. The group kick-off for the women of Bayern Munich at Benfica Lisbon is not going that well.
Damper for Bayern Munich: The German women’s soccer champions missed a win at the start of the Champions League season. At Benfica Lisbon, coach Jens Scheuer’s team didn’t get past 0-0 despite some good chances. For Bayern, who started with four wins and 21-0 goals in the Bundesliga, it was the first small setback of the young season.

Meanwhile, the former world footballer Ada Hegerberg celebrated her comeback after a long injury break in Olympique Lyon 3-0 (1-0) at BK Häcken. The Norwegian, who suffered a cruciate ligament rupture in January 2020 and had suffered setbacks since then, was substituted on in the 78th minute.
