BBC content on Sky: German customers will soon see more British documentaries and reports

• Sky Germany and the BBC Studios agree on an extended cooperation.
• BBC content will be broadcast on Sky Nature and Sky Documentaries channels.

British TV formats about natural phenomena and human history are popular worldwide. Not least because of the unmistakable voice of speaker legend David Attenborough. This will soon be heard more and more in German living rooms: more than 150 hours of documentary material from the British BBC studios will soon find their way into the Sky Germany program.

But not only high-quality, serious productions such as “David Attenborough: The Sound of Nature” will soon be available to Sky’s pay-TV customers: Also reality style blossoms about dazzling personalities such as the criminal big cat trainer Joe Exotic, better known as “Tiger King” are on the program. Also taking part will be British cult reporter Louis Theroux, who daringly explores the USA in his TV excursions entitled “Louis Theroux’s Forbidden America”.

Sky plans to broadcast the BBC content via its documentary channels Sky Nature and Sky Documentaries, which were launched last year, where original Sky productions can also be seen in addition to the licensed titles.
