Be careful with Aldi: only half of 2 PCs and 4 notebooks are worth it

Fancy a new computer or laptop for the home office or for gaming? This week Aldi is offering 4 new notebooks and 2 PCs in one fell swoop. But although the discounter is known for its low prices, caution is advised in this case. Because the bottom line is that only 3 of the 6 offers are worthwhile.

Aldi is going full steam ahead: PCs and laptops in the online shop this week

In addition to groceries and electrical appliances, Aldi has also been offering laptops and PCs for sale at regular intervals for some time – both online and directly in the stores. In addition to rather inexpensive models for the home office, there are always top devices that are aimed primarily at gamers. On June 30th there will be 6 new offers in the Aldi online shop4 laptops and 2 PCs.

Which Aldi laptops are worth it?

Let’s go through them in quick order: Although the Medion Akoya is not an absolute price breaker for 799 euros, it can definitely be worth itsince the only valid competitor model from HP (check it out at NBB) has some difficulties to contend with according to the user rating. The Medion Erazer Crawler E30 looks a little different. ONE sells a similarly equipped laptop in its online shop for 50 euros less (see ONE). This also offers a larger display and a slightly faster processor, but the SSD is only 512 GB in size.

You can safely ignore the Medion Erazer Defender P15, at least for now. Because with the Lenovo Legion 5 you get a similarly equipped laptop from NBB for the same price, but with the RTX 3070 @ 130 watts it offers a faster graphics card (check it out at NBB). And what about the top model? The Medion Erazer Beast X20 costs a whopping 2,399 euros. But there is hardly any competition with similar specs in this price range. We only found the XMG Neo 15 for the price. However, this only offers 16 GB of RAM and a display with a maximum of 240 Hz (check out computeruniverse).

And what about the desktop PCs? Here is an overview of the technical data:

Which Aldi PCs are worth it?

Are the complete PCs that Aldi will be offering from July 30 worth it? We did some calculations how much the individual parts of the calculator cost and compare them with the purchase price of the Aldi calculator. Here the result:

While the surcharge for the cheap Recon E10 is still reasonablebecause buyers do not have to deal with the assembly and also have a 3-year guarantee, the asking price for the more expensive Engineer X20 is simply too high. Buyers have to pay almost 200 euros more compared to building their own. That’s just too expensive.

The bottom line is that with the new Aldi offer, only the following 2 laptops and a PC are really worth it:
