Beatrice Borromeo & Charlotte Casiraghi: Your rose ball looks are met with criticism

At the Rose Ball in Monte-Carlo, Beatrice Borromeo and Charlotte Casiraghi appeared in fashionable designs straight from the runway. However, not everyone likes the glamorous looks. Criticism is pouring down, especially on the internet.

It is one of the most magical and glamorous events in Monaco: the Rose Ball. Also this year, Princess Caroline of Hanover, 66, and Prince Albert, 65, invited family members and special personalities to benefit the Princesse Grace Foundation. Under the motto “Bollywood”, the younger royals in particular were glamorous and used pieces by great designers. Yes, they rely less on the prominent characteristics of Bollywood — which is particularly met with criticism on Instagram.

Beatrice Borromeo: Instead of color, she relies on black and gold

Beatrice Borromeo, 37, appears alongside Pierre Casiraghi, 35, in a couture look by Dior. Her gown is a princess dream in unconventional black and gold. Due to the off-the-shoulder design, the Carmen neckline conjures up an elegant décolleté that reaches its fashionable high point with the play of black and golden lace. The small, metallic dots catch the light and make your appearance even more radiant. The waisted cut with attached skirt emphasizes the slim waist of the Monegasque and gives her a majestic look, which is complemented by the matching jewellery. And here she does it differently than her role model from the catwalk.

While the designer opted for a waist belt with a wide buckle to introduce his collection, Beatrice completed her look with a sparkling braid that sits atop her tied-back hair. The crown is decorated with black flowers and shines in the same color scheme as her dress. In combination with the drop-shaped earrings, the sight looks truly majestic, but not at all Bollywood. In addition to many compliments such as “Chic and original, much better without the belt”, there are mainly critical words on social media. The vibrant colors, rich fabrics and eye-catching embellishments of the robes worn by classical Indian actors are not found in this rendition. An Instagram user shares her opinion: “I think she misinterpreted the Bollywood theme of the ball.” Another continues: “I’m disappointed, she can do far better.”

Charlotte Casiraghi: In Chanel she doesn’t meet everyone’s taste

Charlotte Casiraghi, 36, also made an unconventional choice for the motto with a glamorous feather look. The white Chanel dress with spaghetti straps has a straight, yet loose cut, which looks extremely gallant due to the sparkling fabric with small circles. The pink feathers on the hem of the robe give the outfit a playful touch and make it an untypical eye-catcher for the evening. The pink gloves are a special detail of the look and give it a playful look. With the white handbag from Chanel, she makes a timeless choice that will probably complete any outfit.

On the Chanel catwalk, the combination with accessories is more subtle. Ballerinas and chain make the dress the center of attention.

The sight proves: Charlotte Casiraghi has interpreted the elegant robe with heels, gloves and a bag in a more playful way, but still remains true to the designer. The Bollywood-typical, large, eye-catching earrings, necklaces, bracelets and rings are not to be found on her either. Not everyone likes that. As a Chanel brand ambassador, did she overdo it with this look? One user vented her anger: “And this is supposed to be a charity event … Charlotte looks like a Chanel testimonial”, while another asks: “Carnival?”. Harsh words for looks of an evening that was characterized by fairytale flair. Still, Beatrice Borromeo and Charlotte Casiraghi definitely split fashion minds with their gowns.
