Singer Beatrice Egli has climbed the Matterhorn. After several attempts, the Swiss woman “actually made it”.

The Matterhorn is one of the highest mountains in the Alps – Beatrice Egli (33) has now conquered the 4,478 meters. She proudly shares this experience on Instagram. “I climbed the Matterhorn and came down again. Coming down got me bogged down,” she says in a story. “Now I can enjoy that I made it!” First she’ll eat hash browns, a Swiss specialty made from potatoes.

On Thursday (August 19), Egli left at 4:30 a.m., she writes in an Instagram post. “A few hours later I was really up there, was allowed to enjoy the incredible view and, while breathing in and out very deeply, I realized what I had achieved. All the training, the sweat, the tears, the hope and the despair finally disappeared paid off and I can’t tell you how happy and still incredulous I am. ” In the accompanying photo, Egli laughs radiantly. With her helmet and headlamp she can be seen with her group climbing the rope.

“Challenge of my life”

The ascent of the Matterhorn was “the challenge of my life”, Egli continues. The event remains “forever in my heart”. The Swiss pop singer wanted to conquer the mountain in July, but had to postpone her plan twice due to bad weather.

The 33-year-old had prepared intensively for the exhausting tour, as she revealed in advance in an interview with spot on news. “I trained intensively with my personal trainer for many months. In addition, I ran up and down the mountains almost every day and in all weathers, on my own and with a lot of discipline,” said Egli.

Egli’s summit ascent was part of the “100% Women Peak Challenge”, which aims to bring women closer together and encourage them to mountaineering.
