Beats Fit Pro: Apple brings AirPods competitors to Germany

The Apple subsidiary Beats brings the true wireless earphones Beats Fit Pro to Europe. In Germany, in-ears should go on sale at the end of January, as the company announced on Tuesday. You can pre-order from January 24th. With active noise cancellation (ANC), transparency mode and 3D audio, the Beats Fit Pro are in direct competition with Apple’s AirPods Pro.

In contrast to the cheaper Beats Studio Buds, Apple integrates the in-house H1 chip into the Beats Fit Pro, which is intended to ensure comprehensive iPhone integration and – in conjunction with Apple hardware – offers typical AirPods functions. In addition to simple coupling with all of your own devices, this also includes automatic audio switching between them, support for the Siri voice assistance system on request and integration into Apple’s “Where is?” App for locating the earphones. A fit test is also part of the range of functions. In addition, 3D audio (Dolby Atmos) with dynamic head tracking is supported.

The Beats Fit Pro are specially designed for training and fitness use and should sit firmly in the ears with the help of a small bracket, they are also sweat and water resistant (according to IPX4), as announced by Beats.

A new “acoustic architecture” ensures better sound. When the active noise cancellation (or the transparency mode) is switched off, an adaptive EQ is activated, as with the predecessor Powerbeats Pro, which is supposed to adapt the sound to the shape of the ear. Optical sensors detect whether the earphones are in or out of the ear – and playback continues or stops accordingly.

With active noise cancellation, the in-ears should last up to 6 hours of music playback. The battery in the supplied charging case charges it completely several times, Apple promises a playback time of up to 27 hours in total.

For Android users, Apple provides a simplified coupling and the fit test via an app. The listening modes can be changed using the earphones or the app. Special functions such as head tracking are reserved for iPhone users. The manufacturer is bringing the Beats Fit Pro onto the market in Germany for 230 euros – in the colors white, gray, black and purple.
