Beauty and the Beast, Encanto & Co.: Disney cities that are on our vacation list

While some cities in Disney films are clear, others were inspired by reality. Because sometimes things have to be more magical in the film and so beautiful places merge with the artists’ ideas. We’ll tell you where you can find some of the cities.

There are many other exciting places that Disney heroes can take with them. For example, London in “101 Dalmatians” (1961) or New York in “Oliver & Co.” (1988). Other films focus less on cities than on beautiful landscapes, such as those in Polynesia that inspired “Moana” (2016) or Machu Picchu in Peru, which served as the inspiration for “A Kingdom for a Llama” (2000). The temple complex “Angkor Wat” in Cambodia is also said to have partly inspired the city of Atlantis in the 2001 film of the same name.
