6 underrated products that everyone suddenly loves
Whether make-up, skincare or perfumes – some products are taking the market by storm, even though they weren’t expected. And suddenly everyone changes their beauty habits. Did you get on the hype train too?
Every year “flacony” publishes its beauty report and reveals which products are currently very trendy and which have particularly asserted themselves in the past year. We have taken a close look at the Germans’ beauty favorites and show you six products that suddenly everyone is celebrating.
1. Lip oil
While our favorite lipsticks had to stay in the beauty bag last year, lip oils were increasingly used for this. To be precise, the demand in 2020 was 200 percent (!) Higher than in the previous year. This made the lip oils total high-flyers. No wonder, because while you unfortunately cannot see the lipstick under the mask, our rough lips still want to be cared for.
2. Nail polish
Unfortunately, the nail salons had to close their doors in 2020 due to Corona. So if you wanted freshly manicured hands, you had to, well, lend a hand – to the delight of all nail polish brands. Because the demand for nail polishes, top coats and nail care rose by a strong 90 percent. And since Corona we have all been able to call ourselves full professionals when it comes to filing and painting.
3. CC cream
Welcome back, dear CC creams! They were hyped for a long time, then somehow neglected and now they are back again – the miracle creams that contain almost everything: sun protection, care, color correcting … you name it! Their sales increased by 39 percent last year. One possible reason: In the home office, a light make-up is probably enough!
4. Self Tan Products
Another corona effect can be seen in terms of tanning creams: While many had to forego their beloved summer vacation last year, an emergency solution was resorted to. The sale of self-tanning products rose by 20 percent and provided that vacation feeling straight out of the bottle.
5. LED masks
The new masks with LED technology took the market by storm in 2020. Their sales rose by as much as 38 percent. Sure: if you can’t see a beautician, you can bring yourself some spa moments into your own four walls. The blue LED light reduces blackheads, pimples and oily skin. By the way: Stars like Suki Waterhouse, Kourtney Kardashian, Jessica Alba or Kaley Cuoco also swear by the LED masks.
6. Niche fragrances
Niche fragrances are currently at the forefront of the race for the most popular perfumes. Their sales rose by a full 36 percent. What makes the fragrances so special? They deviate from the norm and are very individual. With their special nuances, they should be a reminder of beautiful places and moments. Nice thing!
