Beauty products that we almost all misuse

From foundation to hairspray – almost every beauty product can be used incorrectly. And some of us have already done that. But with these five mistakes we feel caught. Because we have definitely (almost) all used these products incorrectly.

hairclips

If the hair doesn't want the way we do, then of course we always have a hair clip in our handbag. At least in the best of cases. But what many do wrong: the jagged side does not come outwards, but towards the scalp. So they hold better and are said to adapt better to the shape of the head. If you have very thick hair, you can put two clips together in an X shape. Due to the wavy sides they stick together all day long and do not come off. It also looks a lot better if the straight, smooth side of the brackets is facing out. After all, it is visible to everyone else.

eyelash curler

Have you ever used eyelash curlers and thought: Somehow that didn't work. We feel the same way! The reason is that you are not using them properly. Everyone should know that of course you use the pliers BEFORE you lash your eyelashes. However, it is not enough to just bend the eyelashes at the base. Bend it slightly in the middle, so that there is more momentum. And one more thing: Not every eyelash curler fits every eye. Depending on whether you have round, almond-shaped or deep-set eyes – you should use different pliers. At Tweezerman, for example, you will find specially developed pliers – the Procurl eyelash curler for round eyes and the Pro Master eyelash curler for deep-set eyes. You should definitely pay attention to this, otherwise the best eyelash curler won't do you anything.

Beauty sponges

Beauty sponges have been THE revolution for liquid makeup products for a few years now. If you still have the feeling that foundation and concealer cannot really be incorporated better with it, then you may be making this mistake: You use it in a dry state. Beauty sponges – whether egg-shaped, triangular or flat sponges – you should ALWAYS use moist. This will open the pores of the sponges and make them softer. This allows you to incorporate the products better and more naturally and they are not so much on the skin. Just hold your sponge under running water and squeeze it out a few times.

Pointed tweezers

Anyone who has ever tried tweezing their eyebrows with pointed tweezers will have noticed that this does not work. No wonder, pointed tweezers have no straight edge with which you can grip and pull out the hair safely. You shouldn't at all. This is actually only used for ingrown hair. With the tip, you can push the skin over the ingrown hair a bit to the side and expose the stubborn hair. You can then grasp it with the tip and remove it once and for all. You have never tried this before? Now you know how to do it!

Perfume

A splash on the forearms, rub, done. If you've used your perfume like this so far, then we have bad news: it absolutely doesn't work that way. Spray once in the elbow, neck and stomach. If you like, you can even get it in the back of your knees. At these points, the fragrance can develop perfectly and you have it in your nose all day.
