Beauty tips: 10 supposed mistakes we should be making more often

Everyone makes mistakes. What many do not know: not every beauty mistake is actually one! We reveal which beauty rules you should break much more often – because it’s good for you.

We constantly have to deal with things in everyday life that we shouldn’t be doing. To be honest, not all mistakes have to be bad. But on the contrary. We’ll tell you which beauty mistakes you should make more often.

1. Do not wash your hair

If we’re being honest, then each of us has missed the point when our hair urgently needed a wash. What the hell! In fact, doing nothing for a few days isn’t so bad for our hair and scalp. Instead of stressing both of them with frequent washing, you give them some rest with the shampoo break, and the oil on the scalp even cares for them. In addition: You can delay your washing rhythm in the long term if you let your hair grease. So please don’t be ashamed. Unwashed hair is much better than you always thought!

2. Do not exfoliate lips

Do you hate chapped and dry lips? We can understand that. But even if we think exfoliating would fix the situation, sometimes it makes a lot more sense to leave it alone. What your lips need most is moisture. By exfoliating, you are only fighting the symptoms – not the cause. So instead of rubbing your lips 24/7, you should rather rely on intensive care. How about a honey mask? Simply put a thick layer of your favorite honey on your lips, put a piece of plastic wrap over it and let it work for 15 minutes.

3. Don’t pluck eyebrows

Plucking eyebrows is one of the most annoying things in the world, but it has to be. Or? If you don’t want wildly sprawling brows, you should pluck your eyebrows properly. And regularly. However, sometimes it can work wonders if you don’t. Not only are Natural Brows totally trendy anyway, you can also finally let your gaps grow out or give your brows a new shape by taking a plucking break.

4. Wash your cat in the morning

After getting up, many start the day by cleaning their face. Often with cleaners and cleaning products. This need not be. In fact, it is unnecessary. If you remove your make-up properly in the evening and cleanse your skin, there will be no dirt on your skin in the morning. Only the oil that she produced herself. It is sufficient to remove it with a gentle micellar water or just a little water. It also saves time (which is precious in the morning)!

5. Do not use an eyeshadow base

Do you wear eyeshadow every day? Then nothing works for you without a base. Have you ever considered not using a base? It works just as well with your concealer. Just put a little bit of product on your eyelids, spread it with your fingers, a brush or a beauty sponge and then apply your eyeshadow as usual. This not only balances out veins and redness on the eye, but also keeps your eye make-up bombproof. If you’ve never tried it before, then it’s high time you did it. This saves you at least one product in your suitcase for your vacation.

6. Throw away eyeshadow applicators directly

You have probably already noticed that many eyeshadow palettes still contain the unpopular, rock-hard applicators. For many of you, they’ll probably go straight to the trash can – and that’s wrong. Sure, you definitely can’t blend eyeshadow with the applicators, but you can use them to apply shimmer eyeshadow on the movable eyelid or in the inner corner of the eye. The hard applicator makes them come out much stronger and more pigmented. You can also use them for glitter pigments. In the future, think twice about whether you really want to throw away the unloved beauty helpers. We wouldn’t do it …

7. Do not powder the concealer

We all struggle with the concealer pooling in the wrinkles under the eye. What can be done about it? Many swear by powder to set the concealer or even the baking method. Then the product usually stays in place, but the eye area looks like the Sahara in midsummer: dried out. You can prevent this by simply doing without powder. Apply your concealer under the eye as usual with a brush or sponge – but don’t use too much product. And yes, then the concealer will first settle in the wrinkles. To prevent this, you repeatedly remove the product from your eye creases with a flat concealer brush by simply gently wiping the wrinkles with the brush. You do this again and again until you are done with your make-up – about four to five times in total. We promise you, the concealer will not settle afterwards because there is no more excess product. And of course you look fresher than ever.

8. Do not trace eyebrows

You can’t even imagine not tracing your eyebrows anymore? And natural brows are so beautiful! Especially in summer, when you wear less strong make-up, you should try just tinting your eyebrows instead of tracing them with a pencil or pomade every day. It looks much fresher and more summery. If you can’t do without a bit of product at all, then simply comb them into shape with a gel – that’s enough. We promise you will love this look!

9. Do not shave armpits

Have you ever had small red pimples under your armpits? Anyone who shaves every day is sure to know that. Even in summer you should refrain from using the razor every day. As a rule, the stubble is much too short to be shaved again. The result: sore armpits. Every two days would be better – and if in doubt, just wear a shirt on day two that covers your armpits. So you can hide small stubble and still feel good.

10. Don’t wear blush

Is your makeup not fresh enough without blush? You just think so. Especially on warm days you can do without a blush in the morning – and just use your bronzer on your apple cheeks instead. Because it makes your look look super fresh and kissed by the sun. An easy way to get a little freshness and tan on your face, even when you’re on vacation. So say goodbye to your pink blush. We much prefer to wear bronze tones on our cheeks. Yay!
