Dark spots or pimples under the arms can be uncomfortable. This is what you should pay attention to when caring for beautiful armpits.

As the summer months approach, the sleeves are getting shorter again, tops and T-shirts are on the dress code. But what should you do if your armpits are still in winter mode? Proper care is crucial.

A gentle shave

For sensitive armpits, there is hardly anything worse than a rough shave. Pimples and redness are often the result. It is therefore important to ensure that the razor blade glides well, is sharp and clean. Shaving foam and shaving gel, which are great to use in the shower, are indispensable for this. Anyone who naturally struggles with ingrown hairs or other irritations under the armpits should treat the skin with a moisturizer. This should be absorbed for a few hours or even overnight before shaving.

Treat the skin to moisture

Our skin feels particularly good when it is supplied with sufficient moisture. The armpits are no exception. They too should be cared for with a suitable body lotion once or twice a week. In order to avoid skin irritation, however, a few hours should pass between shaving and creaming the armpits.

Exfoliating for an even complexion

Unsightly discoloration under the armpits does not have to be. They can be counteracted by regularly exfoliating the skin. This clears clogged pores and removes dead skin cells. At home, you can easily mix such a peeling yourself from a little olive oil, sugar, honey and a splash of lemon juice. Apply this in the shower and rinse off thoroughly.

Consciously use the deodorant

Daily use of a deodorant can also lead to discolored skin under the armpits. It is advisable to use products that are free of chemical substances. Aluminum, dyes and fragrances as well as parabens and sulfates can damage the skin. Here it is important to listen to your own body. Does the deodorant make the skin feel uncomfortable, does it sting or itch? Then it should no longer be used and replaced.
