Cheers to facials, massages & everything that goes with them. You can find out here which special treatments the Brigitte editors no longer want to do without.

They are a treat for the body and for the soul: beauty treatments. Of course, the Brigitte editors also have a good time, from facials to massages. Each of them relies on a different treatment that they no longer want to do without in the future.

Editor Linda: Microneedling is part of it!

They are small needles that penetrate the upper layers of the skin. My first reaction: I’m in! That’s a lie, of course – I’ve always viewed microneedling with particular reverence. On the one hand with fascination, after all, regular treatment should lead to finer pores, fewer wrinkles and scars that are no longer as visible, and on the other hand you come out of the beauty studio completely red. At some point I (finally!) had the courage – it wasn’t bad and it didn’t hurt. Instead it tickled a little! The needles go into the tissue so quickly that you don’t even feel them. The resulting micro-injuries, which stimulate collagen and elastin formation, give my skin an immediate glow. After three to six weeks you can marvel at the first results.

Editor Ilka swears by brow and lash lifting

Contrary to the idea that beauty editors test one treatment after another, I like to hold back for now. I must have researched everything down to the last detail before trying it out. However, one thing that I didn’t have to think about for long was the brow and lash lift. And that’s mainly because I have nothing to lose in this area. Mine Eyebrows are narrow and light and the eyelashes are long but straight as a line. “It can only get better,” I thought to myself during my first treatment and made the appointment. All I can say is that it changed a lot for me. Hours of brow tracing are over. And on no-makeup days, I no longer need to apply mascara because my eyelashes are still visible without it. I love it and am happy to spend my 100-150 euros on it every five weeks.

Editor Hannah can no longer do without sculptural facials

I am naturally lucky to have good and clear skin – thank you, dear mom! That’s why classic facials weren’t a big deal for me for a long time. I was all the more fascinated by the so-called “sculptural facials,” which have received more and more media attention in recent years. These facials aim to tighten the face and promote blood circulation through targeted massage methods and the use of traditional tools such as Gua Sha and Co.
When I had my first treatment in February, I was thrilled with the results. My face looked noticeably firmer and I had a special glow that I had rarely seen before. A few weeks ago I went one better and treated myself to a “sculptural facelift” with buccal massage from Kiki Frericks. Here, in addition to the face, the cheeks are specifically massaged through the oral cavity, which loosens, lifts and smoothes the facial muscles. Although I was initially skeptical about how it would feel to have a “foreign hand” fiddling around in my mouth, I went for it and was not disappointed.
Treatments like those at Kiki are usually tailored precisely to individual needs. In a world full of mass processing, such an individual approach is currently more important than ever for me. This is not just about treatment, but about real recovery. After my buccal facial, not only did my face feel toned, but I looked like I came straight from the spa. And the best? This effect didn’t just come from the outside, I also felt totally relaxed and recovered inside. Really crazy!

Friederike, Deputy Head of Beauty: Even skin thanks to microdermabrasion

When it comes to facials, I follow the mantra: Consitency is key. At least I have noticed that a treatment for my skin only has a long-term effect if I go to the beauty salon regularly. My skin is classic combination skin, which is sometimes prone to impurities. To keep them in the best possible condition, I go for microdermabrasion (including cleansing) every five weeks. This treatment is a mechanical and extremely effective skin peeling. A special device with grinding attachments is used to gently remove the top layers of skin. By removing dead skin cells, new cells as well as elastin and collagen are formed. This is how the skin repairs damaged tissue.

The treatment ensures that the surface of my skin looks very smooth and even. However, you should be very careful about sunbathing about a week after the treatment, as the skin becomes very sensitive to light. So: Under no circumstances should you have it done right before your summer vacation – or even during it.

Unspectacular but effective: Editor Melanie relies on cleansing and peeling – with a difference

I’ve been to many beauticians for cleansing before I decided it wasn’t worth the money. The reason: After two weeks my skin looked the same again, the care tips didn’t make any sense to me and I could have bought the products that the beauticians used for the facial. All of that changed for me when I found Susanne Martens. She is a medical facial care professional and enjoys my complete trust.

The most important thing for me is to be understood. That my skin problems – underlays, i.e. closed blackheads – are taken seriously and disappear in the long term. Finding someone who will advise you for an hour before the treatment and analyze exactly what your skin needs is now worth everything to me. After the first conversation with Susanne, I finally understood my skin – what it needs, what is too much for it and how we can best treat it. The result of the skin consultation: A peeling with 40 percent mandelic acid, which is very effective but still works gently. My hyperkeratinization is effectively removed, without any side effects such as redness or flaking. After just two days my complexion looks “normal” again (despite cleansing afterwards). This may also be because Susanne soothes my skin again at the end with red LED light, which also promotes cell renewal.

Together with the tips she gave me to use at home, I can see a huge change in my skin. I revealed all of my care products to Susanne and, thanks to her enormous product knowledge, she was able to tell me exactly what I should continue to use and what not. This is also why my skin is now smoother and more radiant than before – even though I had to renew almost all of my skin care routine. It’s always worth it to me!
