One product and endless possibilities – with eyeshadow you can let your creativity run free. Various techniques have established themselves over the years: We have known and loved Smokey Eyes, Cut Crease and Halo Eyes for a long time. And we fell in love with this new trend right away.

From Melanie Wenzke

Whether colorful or simple, matt or shimmering – eye shadow sets our eyes perfectly in scene. While some eye make-ups are made for special occasions, this trend can be perfectly integrated into your everyday look. Not only does it shape your eye and make it look bigger, it also makes your nose appear narrower! You just have to love this technique.

No crease – no problem

Usually we orientate ourselves at the outer end of our crease and create a shadow there that defines the eye. Cool brown tones are very suitable for this, as they look very natural. With this new technique, we not only concentrate on the outer angle, but also blend the eyeshadow even further towards the inner angle. This gives the eye a completely new shape. You can also use this to create a “second crease in the eyelid”. The technology is particularly popular in Asia, as it enables completely new looks. If you have small eyes, you will love the trend all the more!

And this is how it works: Take a small but loosely tied blend brush. Gently goes into a light, cool brown or just a contour powder. With a light hand you move the brush in a windshield wiper movement. You start in the middle of your eye and slowly feel your way towards your nose. Use the lash line as a guide for the shape: the closer you get to the inner corner of the eye, the rounder you should become. At the end you can blend the transitions with a clean, large blend brush. A wide eyeliner supports the illusion of a new crease.

Eyeshadow trick: the technology is so versatile

Those who want more color can use the technology creatively. Bright nuances all over the lid quickly become too dominant. The targeted application only in the inner and outer corners sets the perfect color accent. A subtle eyeliner with the same eye shadow picks up the color again and rounds off the look.

How far you blend the eyeshadow down is up to you. The closer you get to the inner corner of the eye, the more intense the look becomes. So start with a lighter color and slowly get darker. The best way to make up your eyelids is in subtle tones, so your eye make-up doesn’t look overloaded.

By the way, this eyeshadow technique also makes your nose appear optically narrower! The shadow in the inner corner of the eye contours them at the same time.
