In her memoir, Britney Spears writes about her public image as an “eternal virgin.” This was purely an invention of their team.
Britney Spears (41) became a star as a teenager. A big topic in the US media in the early years of her career was the singer’s virginity. People’s obsession with it haunted them, The singer now writes in her autobiography “The Woman in Me: My Story,” according to “People” magazine.
In the book, Spears reveals that her team portrayed her as a “forever virgin” even though she had sex for the first time when she was 14. Given that she had so many teenage fans, her managers and press people tried to maintain that image for a long time, the artist said. And that despite the fact that she was living with Justin Timberlake (42) at the time and had been having sex since she was 14, writes the now 41-year-old. She added: “Why did my managers go to so much trouble to claim that I was some kind of childlike virgin even into my twenties? Who cared whether I had had sex or not?”
Britney Spears had an abortion
Britney Spears and her former “Mickey Mouse Club” colleague Justin Timberlake were a couple from 1999 to 2002. In “The Woman in Me,” the singer also revealed that she was pregnant by him when she was 19 and had an abortion. “If it had been left to me, I would never have done it. But Justin was so sure he didn’t want to be a father,” she wrote. That moment over 20 years ago still doesn’t let her go: “To this day it is one of the most painful things I have ever experienced in my life,” it says in the book.
Two years after her split from Timberlake, Britney Spears married her childhood friend Jason Alexander. However, the marriage was annulled after just 55 hours. A few months later, in September 2004, she married dancer Kevin Federline (45). With him she has two sons Sean Preston (18) and Jayden James (17). In 2006, the singer filed for divorce from Federline after two years of marriage, which was finalized in the summer of 2007. In 2022 she married the actor and fitness trainer Sam Asghari (29), the marriage ended after 14 months.
