Because of exhaustion – mountain rescue man had to get out of the via ferrata

The Bad Eisenkappel mountain rescue team had to move out on the via ferrata to Griffen on Monday evening. A male got stuck and made the emergency call. She could be brought safely into the valley. Three mountain rescuers and two men from the alpine task force were on duty.

The extremely demanding sport via ferrata to the ruins on the Schlossberg in Griffen is unfortunately often overestimated. In particular, the middle part of the mostly traversing via ferrata is often overhanging and therefore very exhausting. There are hardly any easy sections and also hardly any natural resting places. Due to the persistent difficulties, the via ferrata is often underestimated compared to other via ferrata of similar maximum difficulty. The mountain rescuers have to keep getting climbers out of the path.
