It's always about sex. Not in the following text, however. Because according to the so-called happiness study by the Finnish garden tool manufacturer Fiskars, one thing makes Germans happy above all: gardening. On behalf of the Finnish garden expert, the market research institute Norstat interviewed people between the ages of 18 and 70 from seven countries in Europe and the USA, from the passionate garden guru to the absolute non-gardener, and came across surprising findings. A full 40 percent said in the survey that they relaxed gardening, yes, that it actually made them much happier than sex. In addition, her hobby not only satisfies for a short time, but also increases her satisfaction in the long term.

Germans are leaders!

The Germans, who are otherwise better known for complaining a little bit, are absolute front runners: by international standards, they spend the most time in their garden, namely 5.5 hours a week. By the way, they probably even exert themselves more than in bed, because from point two on it's all about toil.

According to the study, the top 5 favorite activities in the garden are:

1. 56 percent of those surveyed prefer to look at their garden.

2. 46 percent prefer to harvest yields.

3. 37 percent care for their plants with dedication.

4. 31 percent love to plant.

5. 28 percent care for their ornamental plants with dedication.
